OTAKUs(おたく / オタク)
is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, or video games. well, thats what wikipedia says, wiki even said that were obsessive =.=
yeah right! people will say were weird, informal and the stuff right? but let me ask you this..
You were walking on your way home and you met this rocker dude on your way home, normal right? a rocker is common this days, its culture! most people will just let him pass, wont have look backs at him. even though he looks like this.
But when we otakus walk around, people always judge us.
people will say hey look at that! then followed by a very personal annotation.
heres what i learned when i was with my otaku group in one of the sm malls in the metro.
Security Guards, especially the visayan ones (no offense) cant stand our very existence. maybe its because theyre not use to seing otakus thats why they think were attracting attention. now, being noticed by the mall guards aint really that annoying. EXCEPT when they start following your group and telling you what to do on a public mall!
We were on the foodcourt once when there was a cosplay event in the same mall, now tell me, the sm foodcourts are one of the best places to find a seat? right?, many people sit there, have a rest before ordering food. emos, gangsters, rockers and God-knows-what kind of people gather there, right? But for some reason, these guards had their eyes on us.
is it the blue haired dude?
is it my red sharingan eyes?
is it the giant sword we carry?
or is it just plain stupid that they feel awkward seeing real people dress up as animes?
